Brand Story
Founded in 2024 by Tanmay Jain and Gurpreet Juneja, ZenZebra creates physical shopping setups called BreakSpots inside office complexes, coworking spaces, gyms, hotels, and universities. Each BreakSpot is curated around three categories: Snack Spot for better-for-you snacking, Glow-Up Corner for beauty and self-care, and Style Studio for fashion and accessories. The brand has worked with over 200 Indian D2C brands, operates on an asset-light model, and is targeting 50 new locations in the next 18 to 24 months, reaching close to 6 lakh consumers a day. Revenue comes from a mix of product sales, brand subscriptions, advertising, and sampling services.
Origin
Tanmay Jain and Gurpreet Juneja have been friends since school. Jain, a CA, CFA, and LLB, brings experience from the D2C world, having served as the CEO’s chief of staff at Sleepy Owl Coffee. Juneja had built and scaled a B2B construction venture to over INR 100 Cr. Between them, they had a clear view of two different worlds: brands trying to reach consumers, and physical spaces sitting underutilised.
The idea for ZenZebra emerged from a running joke between the two. Jain had seen how valuable it was to build a brand’s presence directly into a consumer’s everyday routine. Juneja was working with corporates and hotels on physical spaces. Their recurring question, whether they could place a brand’s products in those spaces for the right audience, eventually became a real business question. When they spoke to hundreds of consumers and over 200 brands before launch, one thing stood out clearly: trust builds faster when people can touch and experience a product in person.
